About Dr Rachael Archard
Dr Rachael Archard is a UK trained Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience in assessment and intervention of a wide range of psychological, emotional and behavioural difficulties. Rachael has worked clinically in the field of psychology for almost a decade across inpatient, community and forensic services. Additionally Rachael has worked in specialist personality disorder services and completed research and training on the use of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) with adolescents.
Since arriving in Australia Rachael has worked for headspace, a National Youth Mental Health Foundation, which provides early intervention services to 12-25 year olds. Rachael currently works as a Clinical Psychologist at an Independent School, working with children and young people from kindergarten through to year 12.
Rachael is a warm and empathic therapist and values the therapeutic relationship as a significant factor in change and recovery. Rachael’s approach is collaborative and strength focused with a strong emphasis on supporting individual needs. Rachael aims to reach a joint understanding about the nature of the presenting difficulties and explore resilience and coping to help improve psychological health and well-being.
Rachael utilises evidence based therapy modalities to meet individual needs and therapy goals. Approaches include cognitive analytic, cognitive behavioral, dialectical, narrative and solution focused therapies.
